How You Can Help the A.C.N.M. Foundation

Take the A.C.N.M. Foundation's Community Grant Challenge!
The Foundation’s Community Grants are our own form of microenterprise--making small investments in talented individuals who are doing great things for their communities. At just $500, these grants support community projects that promote excellence in health care for women, infants, and families worldwide. We received 15 great community grant applications this year that we were unable to fund. Help us fund more projects by taking the A.C.N.M. Foundation Community Grant Challenge: Any new or renewing Mary Breckinridge Club member (donors of $1000 or more) who has not made a donation in 2009 may choose a community grant to support with your donation. This means that $500 will go toward funding the project of your choice, and $500 will support the Foundation’s other worthy programs. Remember, any donation to the Foundation can be paid monthly over the year to make payments more manageable. |

- Become a Builder! Read more from A.C.N.M. Foundation Board Member Roberta Poirier about how you can get involved.
- Start the New Year off by making your annual commitment early in the year. Every contribution counts – so whether you can give $10, join our Every Member Campaign at $100, or our Mary Breckinridge Club with a donation of $1,000 or more – we count on your support! If you prefer to donate by mail, please click here for a form you can print and return to the Foundation with your check or credit card information.
- Show your dedication with a monthly contribution. One of the easiest ways to show your support is with a recurring monthly contribution. Previously the Foundation only accepted monthly installments for Mary Breckinridge members (donors of $1,000 or more) – but we are now accepting monthly commitments of $10 or more. Click here for a form you can use to enroll in this new way of supporting the Foundation.
- Make a gift in honor of your mentor, colleagues, family or friends. Do you have family members who tell you they "don't need anything" for their birthday? Or do you just want to honor someone special in your life? Making a donation to the Foundation is a great way to honor the people you care about.
- Ask your friends and family to make a contribution in your honor. If you already have enough stuff from thoughtful relatives who don’t know exactly what to buy you – ask them to make a donation to the Foundation in your honor instead. Just send them this link to make an online contribution.
- Support the Public Education Project (PEP)! Make a special contribution to the PEP Campaign and help strengthen and enhance the stature of midwifery in the U.S. You can also purchase the new midwifery-themed postage stamps at stamps.com. By using these stamps, every letter, bill, and check in the mail becomes an opportunity to get messages and positive images about midwifery into the world. A portion of every stamp purchase comes back to the A.C.N.M. Foundation and will be used toward the Public Education Project.
- Encourage your clients to support the Foundation. Suggest to clients that they can “honor their midwife” with a gift to the A.C.N.M. Foundation, Inc. (Give them this link, or contact the Foundation if you would like flyers you can share with your clients.)
- Participate in the Combined Federal Campaign. Remind your friends, family and colleagues who are federal employees about contributing to the A.C.N.M. Foundation, Inc. through the Combined Federal Campaign by checking box # 11297 on the CFC form.
- Become a member of the Foundation’s Midwifery Legacy Circle, by including the Foundation in your estate planning. Members of our Board of Trustees are available to answer your questions about planned giving! Click here for more information.
- And remember, all contributions to the A.C.N.M. Foundation are tax-deductible as allowable by law.
