• Midwifery Certification in the U.S.

Much has changed since 1999 when ACNM released its Issue Brief on midwifery credentials in the U.S.  ACNM members, policy makers, and others have expressed concern about ongoing confusion regarding midwifery credentials and qualifications.  In response, ACNM has published a revised Issue Brief that aligns ACNM with World Health Organization and International Confederation of Midwifery definitions. For more information about this brief, see Frequently Asked Questions.
